Step. #1 Visual Mold Inspection
Call (888)470-0470
A visual mold inspection
for fungi is the most important first step in identifying a possible mold growth contamination problem. FunGuy Inspection & Consulting LLC will determine the extent of any water damage and potential mold growth during
your building assessment. Let FunGuy help you determine if mold growth
possibilities exists on your property. Call today (888)470-0470. Certified and Fully Insured.
Step. #2
Moisture Assessment
Drywall and other
building materials can hold moisture for extended amounts of time making the
potential for mold growth ever increasing. Knowledge
of a recent flood or previous water event is an important factor in determining
remedial strategies or a Mold Testing hypothesis. The
history of a building is a critical piece of information that can help isolate a
potential mold problem. Building materials such as OSB board can absorb
water readily and contain mold within the substance. Indoor contaminants caused by
damp and humid conditions should be repaired by a licensed, bonded and insured
specialty mold remediation company. Water Damage? Mold Problems? Free Mold Quote! Call

Step #3 Collecting Mold Samples
Mold samples can help determine a "snap shot" of your indoor
environment. Air samples for Mold spores can be taken from your
indoor environment and can help Fun Guy Mold Inspection & Consulting LLC detect
and confirm suspect mold growth conditions. Physical mold samples
including bulk mold samples, tape lift mold samples and swab mold samples, all
can be taken by a mold inspector at the time of your mold investigation. The EPA
(Environmental Protection Agency) has
limited information on Permissible Exposure Limits PELs to
biological contaminants within residential structures.
Fun Guy Inspection & Consulting LLC uses EMLab, an AIHA (American Industrial Hygiene Association) accredited laboratory for all microbial analysis.
Mold samples taken with
Air-O-Cell cassettes can help determine if
mold spore concentrations are normal or elevated within indoor environments. Call today to learn more

How we Test for Mold
We can test your home using two primary methods that determine the quantity
and type of mold spores. Our primary concern is to gather as much
information as possible about the history of the building. Using this
information will allow the inspector to prioritize the contaminated areas and
establish a methodology for acquiring indoor samples. Bulk, swab, or tape
samples can be taken from an area on the building structure or on furniture.
Using this strategy to sample different locations will indicate possible mold
growth reservoirs. Air sampling, with an Air O Cell cassette, can trap the
total amount of spores within a given area. Testing and collecting the air for
biological agents is usually done to test a hypothesis. Some reasons to
test the air for biological agents would be to identify the presence of
biological agents, identify biological releases, or monitor the effective
control measures. Biological agents would include, mold spores, pollen,
bacteria, aggregates, and products of local plants, arthropods, birds or
mammals.

Testing will help determine if mold remediation is necessary. Often a air
samples will not collect the spores accumulated on the surfaces of building
structures. Bulk samples can provide additional information that involves
the source, antigens, microbial toxins, general composition and concentrations.
How we collect samples
Generally, we take bulk or aseptic samples are removed from the original source
and then collected in a new, clean, sterile container. The variety of
techniques used to acquire samples differs greatly. Bulk pieces can be
taken from the property if properly sealed in a plastic bag. Slide
cassettes are sealed from the factory and are generally used during the time of
the investigation. After sampling each end of the cassette is sealed from
any exterior contaminants. Adhesive tape maybe used for examination by
microscope and are the easiest to collect. Most of the hyphal structures
and reproductive structures can be saved and provide evidence of microbiological
growth. Tape sampling does not contribute to the total concentration of
environmental contamination.
People exposed to black and toxic mold have reported many symptoms,
